"Last run?" I questioned, even though I knew it was. We'd stayed in the park all morning and, not only had she not fallen, but she'd managed to nail the double to perfection. I'd even suggested to take a break and do some other tricks as a breather, but she wouldn't hear it; I'd never seen someone so determined before. She'd put her mind to doing this and as I watched her do the same jump over and over again, I knew that there was nothing that would be able to stand in her way.

Keeping her in the park – in the open – had also forced me to keep my hands to myself since the trail was completely devoid of trees and much wider than some of the other runs, making any type of seclusion impossible.

But now, we were on the lift and she was staring off as though something was on her mind.

She nodded; her nonverbal response making me wonder even more.

"You're pretty quiet over there, Miss Ryder," I mused. "I'll admit that I'm a little afraid of what you might be plotting in that pretty head of yours."

She laughed, murmuring, "Nothing."

"Let me guess. You're trying to think of the best way to convince me to let you try the triple today – your first day back after nearly breaking your neck attempting that very trick." I wouldn't put it past her and I wasn't sure that I could say she wasn't ready – not after how she did today. Although, it had been a long morning, probably not the best time to try.

She looked about to respond, but waited until we were off the lift.

"No, that's not what I was thinking, Mr. Olsen." A bit of cheekiness returned to her voice. "Actually, I was going to ask if we could do the glades."

Now, I was shocked. I would have thought that with all the time we spent on the mountain last week and then with her missing the whole weekend, she wouldn't want to shred anything but the park until she nailed her triple; again, she surprised me.

"Fine with me." I clipped in.

"Hope you can keep up!" I looked up at her words to see her already sailing down the mountain. Oh, so that's how this was going to go?

I gained speed; I was going to catch her.

And then I was never going to let her go.
